Southbridge Town Board.

The monthly meeting of the Southbridge Town Board was held ou Thursday evening ; present — Messrs R. Webster (Chairman), J. Low, It. 0. Burns, J. Kilbride, and A. Cameron. Correspondence wasread — From Property Tax Department, requesting certain alterations in valuation roll. From Audit Office, asking for payment of £3 for auditing accounts. Leave w&a granted Mr Gamble to erect a fence fronting his house in Brook street. Mr E. C. Burns, on behalf of the Works Committee, reported favourably on the work done in Brook street, and that it waa finished to their satisfaction. The Clerk woa instructed to issue summonses to all defaulting ratepayers. Mr Burns gave notice that he would move oa next Board night that the following clause be inserted in the by-laws — "All owners or occupiers of properties within the boundaries of the town district not complying with notices within the specified time to cut, stub, or trim fences, erect cart or footbridgea over waterchannels in front; of gates or other entrances, it shall be lawf ul for the Board to do such work or works at the cost of such owner or occupier." It was decided to postpone the question of bringing the water-race under the Town Board district. The Chairman was authorised to inotruct the Secretary asking fox*- subsidy duo to the Board. It waa decided to pay the amount of contract for forming Brook Btreot, .£2B, the sum of £2 Oa lOd to be held over a3 extras. The pay-sheet, amounting to .£43 la Gd, was passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
