The Hospital Committee, after a length] discussion to-day, decided to ask for i Government enquiry under the following circumstances: — A Chinaman was Benl from Hastings to the Hospital by a loca doctor. He had previously been in the Hospital, and besides being indescribably filthy in his habits, had developed symptoms of insanity. The Hospital stafl refused to admit him without an ordea from the Committee, and the end of it was that the man was driven back to Hastings, where he died immediately. At the inquest on the body the Jury returned a -verdict censuring the Committee ana staff, At the Committee meeting Dr Menziea, the Hospital surgeon, said he believed that the man came to his death by strangling.
