Wellington A. and P. Show

[Peb Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. The first annual Show of the Wellington. A. and P. Association is being held on the | Hutt racecourse to-day. The weather is [ delightful, the broiling sun being tempered by a cool- sea breeze. The attendance of the public is large. The entries total 752, which is claimed to be the largest number received at any Show in the Uorth Island. There is a splendid show of horses and sheep, with cattle not far behind in j point of number. The exhibits of local manufactures number 144, and are attracting a more than ordinary amount of attention. The judging of the cattle- and horses is taking place to-day. The prize for the champion Ayrshire bull went to Mr W. J. Broomley's King; for the champion cow, to Mr G. H. Scale's Countess. Mr James Eowe, of Christchurch, was the principal prizetaker for pigs. In Lincoln sheep, Mr J. Strang (Manawatn) gained the prize for the champion ewe. J. Earner's (Wairarapa) Serjeantmajor was the champion ram. Messrs Brabner and Sons have taken first prize for the best collection of carriages, and first prize for dogcarts.
