NEWS FROM STANLEY.
EMIN BEY'S PEEIL,
[Spxous xo Pbess Association.
LONDON, Nov. 5. A despatch lias been received from gfcanley, via Zanzibar. He says that on reaching Lake Albert Nyanza for the third time (after his visit to his rear guard), he heard Emm Pasha, and Jephson had been prisoners since August 18, and unless they received assistance before the end of December any help would be useless. It appears that the troops of the Equatorial Province revolted, and the Mahdists shortly after invaded the district. After tha first battle the natives were seized with panic and joined the invaders, who, suffering a reverse in their attack on Dufela, had senfc to Khartoum for assistance. No explanation is given in the letter as to how Emm was rescued. Stanley merely says he stayed at Wadelai for a month collecting fugitives, and left the Albert Nyanza on May 8 homeward bound via, the Victoria Nyanza. No hostile natives had been met since leaving Kabbareja. He expects to: reach the coast in January.
