Mails close for the following places aa under, subject to the .necessary alterationa •-— Thursday, Nov. 7. For Akaroa and Dunedin, per Takapuna, at 11.10 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.20 a.m. ; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, Sydney and Brisbane, per Manapouri, at 3 p.m. ; late foo letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. Wednesday, Nov. 13. For South America, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe per Takapuna (to connect at Wellington with E.M.S. Tainui) , also for Northern Ports pf New Zealand, as follows :■— Ordinary letters, 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m, ; books and 7.30 p.m.; registered letters and parcels, 5 p.m.; money orders, 4 p.m. ; guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train. Thismail will be due in London-on Dec. 26. Monday, Nov. 11, will be observed- aa Prince of Wales' Birthday by the Post and Telegraph Department, and all branches of the Post Office will bo closed. Mails usua^y closed on Monday will close at 8' p.m. on Satjirday,_Noy. 9, and they Post Office will open on Nov. 9 Irom 9.30 to 10.30 p.m. for counter delivery of letters usually delivered by letter carriers.
