Meikle's b g Cathedral, aged, Ust (Urton) 0 Aa tbey ran towards the first hurdle Secretary and Sankey drew to the front, and had Secuius and College Boy as their immediato attendants as they passed the Btand, but at Cutts' College Boy took command and made play two or three lengths in front of Secretary and Sankey, with the rest, whipped in by Ahua, who was a hundred yards away, following in straggling order. They ran without change to the top turn, where Ahua Commenced to go up. The favourite caught the second division as they came into the straight, and, getting on terms with Sankey and College Boy at the laat hurdle, wore them down in the run home, and won cleverly by three parts of a length from Sankey, who was a length and a half in front of College Boy, with Royalty fourth and Securua last. Gollan's blk c Bonnta, by AlbanyNo Name, Sat 101 b 0 Scots Grey, next the rails, and Renata in the centre were quickest away, but before they had gone a furlong, Alsace, who hung at the post, ran through, and was at the head of affairs as they passed Cutts', with Renata next, and Scots Grey, Cyniscs, and Peerswick following in that order. The same positions were maintained aB they made the next turn, but nearing the mile post Renata closed on the leader, and was level with the filly at Ford's, while Peerswick had moved up into third place,. 3 ust clear of Scots Grey, and Cynisca was bringing up the rear. Before they had gone another furlong, Scots Grey moved up to the leaders, and a. the pace increased/Alsace and Renata fell back, Cynisca and Peerswick at the same time closing on the favourite. Scots Grey was first into the straight, but Cynisca wao athis heels, and White had to shake up the colt at the distance. Asked for an effort, the favourite strode away, and going on, won very easily by four lengths trom Cynisca, with Peersweek a further length and a half away, third, Alsace fourth, and Renata laßt. Time — 2min 42sec. Dividend, £1 103. The winner was subsequently led on to the lawn and decorated by His Excellency the Governor with the blue ribbon.
