LINCOLN RIFLE CLUB.
The second competition for a Winchester repeating rifle (presented to the Club by Mr A. Lyons) took place on the range, Tai Tapu, on Saturday last. The conditions were five shots each at 200, 300, 400, SOO, and 600 yds, any position, the highest aggregate in any two competitions to be the winner. The weather on Saturday was favourable, being almost calm, with a good light; but the shooting was very indifferent, the top score being made by Mr Banks, with a total of 71 out of a possible 125 points. The fourth competition was then fired for Messrs Howell Bros.' trophy (ten shots at 400 yds, kneeling), when Mr Buckley succeeded in heading the list with 31 pointß. It was decided to fire the final match for both trophies on Saturday, Nov. 10.
