A Severe Kick.

J Mr W. Martin Forater, the weU-knO-wtl j chemist of Mackay, Queensland, eends the following .tetter to the Charles A. Vogeler Company, the proprietors of St Jacobs i Oil ;— I " Gentlemen,— Although I am aware itna j I contrary to ihe custom of the trade fco i publicly endorse a patent medicine of foreign origin, yefc I think I may be . pardoned for saying a few words in favour of Sfc Jacobs Oil. About a year ago I ' received a severe kick on the leg from a hot se; co severe, indeed, that I fully I expected to be incapacitated from attending to my business fpr at least a fortnight. I received the injury at night, and before morning the lee had swollen to an enormons size. The pain was very acute, and I was unable to do anything, my assistant being absent. In this emergency, by my wife's aid, I procured from the shop : a bottle of St Jacobs Oil, with which I ! soaked a pad of lint, and kept it applied to , the injured parfc for a f«w hours, when, to !my surprise and delight,, the pain left, and ; before night I was able to attend to my business. I may say I suffered no further { inconvenience from the kick, although an enlargement of the bone, which remained for several months afterwards, attested pretty substantially to the severity of the blow dealt me by the horse. — I am, gentlemen, yours faithfully, . "W. M. Fobsteb. "Mackay, Sept. 8, 1887." Beautiful teeth and healthy gums are ensured by using Dr Scott's Electric Tooth Brußh. There is no greater pleasure on eaith than the delightful feeling of health and freshness that rasulfca from the appli- \ cation of electricity to the teeth. It stops decay, and effectually prevents tainted breath. All chemists, or Kempthorne, j Prosser. j Cashmere Bouquet is the most delicately perfumed toilet soap in the market. Its effect on the skin is marvellous. Ladies using this soap once will never use any other. It imparts a charming fragrance to the skin, and a softness and bloom thafc no other toilet preparation can equal. Indigestion and' dyspep-ia yield to no violent remedies, or medicines compounded , of noxious drugs. Nature requires gentle | treatment and natural remedies. Emil ! Frese's Hamburg tea is purely herbal and palatable. It will remove the most obstinate symptoms, and regulate the system better than any drastic mixture. Gilbert's Cornflour, in the kitchen and sick room, will yield a larger percentage of j easily assimilated nourishment than any ] other brand, or the finest prepared arrowroot, sago, rice, or tapioca. Ita uses are legion: bo are ita virtues. Use Gilbert's at onee — if you try the cheaper kind first, you may nofc survive to give Gilbert's a trial. Verdict: Death from eating unwholesome cornflour, with a rider censuring the grocers for selling adulterated food.
