Wynn-Williams for defendant. Plaintiff, olaimed for a balance of wages alleged to be dne to him, as a farm labourer,' by defendant, afarmer, at Killinchy. Plaintiff worked thirteen weeks for defendant irt 1883, and from harvest to the sowing of winter wheat in the years, 1884-S-6-7. Plaintiff could neither read nor write, and trusted to an indifferent memory for facta in connection with the case. Defendant's case was that he did not agree to pay Gillespie J_l per week, and £2 per-week. during harvest, but that, with the exception of 1883, when he paid plaintiff £10 for thirteen weeks' week„he agreed to nayplaintiff £20 for the time _ra--was-w.th.him, four and a half months in 1884, and a like amount for the time Bpent in his employ, ] six, six, and seven months repectively : during the three following years. Mr Ollivier thought something was fairly due | to plantiff, and assessed that amonnt at ■ „_ro and costs.
