The Thames Mining Company made a prompt response to the demand of the Drainage Board in imposing a levy upon them, and the whole of the contributions •were paid to-day. Tho Deep Level Cross Company thereupon surrendered p6asession of the pump, and steam having been got up, the big pump resumed work.
