This Dat. (Before R. Westenra and -J. M. Batham, J.P.'s.) | Drunkenness. — Elizabeth Worthall, drunk in Hereford street on Saturday, was fined as. — Elisabeth Chappell was also drunk in Hereford street, but on Sunday. She, too, was fined 5s. — Hugh Boyle paid a tax of 53 for having been drunk in Manchester street. — Robert Henshaw pleaded guilty to having been drunk at Papanui Hotel, and behaving in a riotous manner there, fighting with, and blackening the eye of a man named Wyatt. Henshaw waa fined 15b in all. — Herbert Phillies and John Poban were fined 5s for their bout at the bottle. Larceny.— Minnie Bench was charged with having stolen a pair of boots from the Scotch Stores, the property of Margaret Maloney, and valued at ss. It appeared Muloney and Bench had been in gaol together. Bench said that Maloney had aathorised her to go %o the Scotch Stores lind get the boots. In evidence it appeared that Bench had got the boot 3 from the Scotch Stores and sold them to the keeper of a secondhand shop for Is, apparently, however, on the understanding that they could be bought back again or Saturday for Is 6d. The case was dismissed.
