DEPARTMENTAL FRICTION.
THE COMET. INVEECA-iGILL, Maech 9. At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce to-day, complaints were tabled as to the obstructive tactics on the part of the Kailway Department in connection with the working of the Frozen Meat Company's traffic afc the public siding. The Chamber concurred in the opinion that the Kailway Department appeared to throw hindrances in the way of the increase of traffic, instead of encouraging it. The matter was referred to the special Committee to interview the Minister for Public Works on his arrival here. The comet was seen here this morning between 3 and 4 o'clock. Its position was east-south-east, about 12deg abovo the horizon, and almost over Venus. Ib was very faint.
