An Italian Statesman. — The aged . statesmen of our epoch seem to be endowed with preternatural activity. A few months ago, just before his accession to office, Signor Crispi, who fills the three offices of President of the Council, Minister of the Interior, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, spent a whole day at Palermo in mastering tho details of a complicated case in. which he was engaged, crossed over to Napleß at night, appeared next day as an adyotate in court, went on to Eome aa soon as it waa finished, where he delivered an important . speech in the Assembly, and trave&ed all night to Venice, in order to preside over a . Board of Arbitration in connection with a ■ maritime dispute. And Signor Crispi ib ; now 70 years of age.
