PROTECTION IN TASMANIA.
In consequence of the dutieß levied by Victoria and South Australia on Tasmanian products, a strong agitation in favour of imposing protective duties on wheat, meat and dairy produce is spreading throughout the Island. A second meeting was lately held at Kichuiond. ' The meeting was a large and representative one, and resolutions affirming the necesaifey of protecting farmers' produce were carried.
