The best designs for the new armed cruisers for the United States Navy are found to be those submitted by the Barrow (England) Shipbuilding Company. The schooner yacht Kildergarde, built for the Prince of Wales, but bought by Mr Jay Gould in England in April, arrived at New York from Cowes on June 14. She is now enrolled with the New York and Hardimont Yacht Clubs.
