[Retjteb's Telegbams.] Death of a Mormon Elder. NEW YOKE, Jult 26. Intelligence has .been receivod of the death of Brother Taylor, President of the Mormon Ohurch, who was a fugitive from justice. Parliamentary Election. IiONDOJM, Jolt 2S. The vacancy in the Parliamenta/iy representation of the City of London, caused by the elevation of Mr Hubbard to the peerage, has been filled by the election of Mr Thomas Baring, Conservative, unopposed. The National League. An article published in this morning's Times, urges upon the Government the necessity for proclaiming the National League, uuder the provisions of the Crimes Act.

Wesleyan Church, St Albans.— This church was well filled on Wednesday evening on the occasion of the annual meeting in the interest of Foreign Missions. The Rev J. Berry presided, and the balancesheet was read by the Rev A. C. Lawry, showing an income and expenditure in connection with the Wesleyan Missions in the South Seas of about _S 12,000 a year. For an hour and a half the Rev J. Holland thoroughly interested the audience with a recital of his experiences in connection j with the missions connected with the S.P.G. Society in Borneo. Mr Holland's address was full of fresh and deeply interesting facts. The Rev R. W. Orton, of New South Wales, moved a vote of thanks to the speaker, who had addressed a similar meeting on the previous evening at Papanui. Two suitable anthems were rendered by the choir. It transpired that the Papanui meeting had also been addressed by the Rev T. Taylor, of tho Congregational Church, and formerly of China. The audience were evidently in full sympathy with the Chairman in hie endeavour ( to make • the meetings thoroughly catholic i and representative. I
