THE WRECK OF THE LYTTELTON.

Our Timarn correspondent wires : — Airer several days of 6evere and arduous work at tne ■wreck, thoße employed have been successful in landing one of the boilers of the lefrigerating machinery. On Saturday morning, at 4 0 clock, a start from tho shore was made with the boats, and \ after arriving at tho scene of the wreck, the diver very successfully slung one of the boilers, bat, unfortumtely, it was not hoisted quite high enough, «3, daring the trip ahoiewards, it grounded on a shallow part of the harbour, and it took Borne time , to raise it high enough to float. After this was done, the surf boatß wero towed close up to the northern part; of the breakwater, and then the large orane hoisted it on to a truck. The bouer is in a general Btate of dilapidation, aa might naturally be expected from tho way in which the wrack has beun knocked about and the length of time it haa been under water. The fire-box has been knocked off, and the copper pipes that were oataide the boiler have been wrenched away.
