LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wednesday, August 18. The Acting -Speaker (the Hon W. D.H. Baillie) occupied the chair. At 4.30 the vice- regal assent to a number of Bills was received. The Council adjourned to 4.55. THE PROROGATION. On the Council resuming, the Commission appointed by His Excellency thn Governor, consisting of the Hons Sir F. Whitaker, P. Buckley and W. H. Reynolds, prorogued Parliament in the presence of the members of the Council and 26 members of the House. The Commission set forth that Parliament was prorogued to Dec. 16, and so concluded the proceedings, which ended, as the session had begun, in a downpour of rain.
