Kaiapoi Woollen Factory.

The assured success of the Kaiapoi "Woollen Company's manufactures is a matter for sincere congratulation, and the fact is best borne out by the steadily increasing demand for every line of their goods. The indefatigable Directors, who are equal to the occasion, are making every exertion to keep pace with the requirements, not only by importing the m«st recent inventions in machinery, but also by erecting new buildings of substantial brick and stone, to place them in. "Under the supervision of their most courteous manager (Mr Leithead), their designs in tweeds and fancy wrap, as well as the quality of their broadcloth and blankets, are steadily gaining ground, and before long will have found their way into all civilised markets. At the Colonial Exhibition, amid specimens from all parts of the world, the Kaiapoi Woollen Company's exhibit was unanimously admired, and even Koyalty deemed them sufficiently unique to set the fashion by wearing their productions. The steady increase of orders has, for some time, taxed to the utmost the producing powers of the Company. The result is that the management have been running the establishment at high pressure, to keep pace with the demands. Their crowd of employees, by their comfortable appearance and happy faces, are well worth seeing, and speak volumes in favour of their employers. A new loom shed is at present in course of erection, the machinery for which is to hand. This, when completed, will considerably increase the out-put, and take off some of the strain. It is understood that further buildings will be quickly required; indeed, it is hard to speculate at present when the Company will cease building, as experience proves that whab are deemed sufficient one month are utterly insufficient next month. It gives us much pleasure to have to chronicle such a healthy state of affairs, which must be equally gratifying to both the general public and the shareholders.
