LOWER HEATHCOTE RACES. The following amounts were paid over yesterday :— E. Murfitt, ,£l9 ; H. Cassidy, JG2B 10s ; P. Butler, £61 15s ; D. Rutherford, £42 15s; H. Hammond, .£76; H. Bradley, £4> 15s ; A. Drake, M 15s ; L. Marke/, .£l4 ss ; H. E. Pitt, £9 10a. Total, £261 ss.
SHEFFIELD RACES. The following are the remaining events at this meeting, held on Thursday : — CONSOLATION HANDICAP, of 5 BOTB. One milo. Mr H. Cnssid/s elite Day Dream 1 Mr H. Jones' br m Moid of irin 2 Day Dream came in a winner by about half a length. Very little interest was taken in the race. Dividend, £1 4a. HUBRY SCQBBY, of 5 soya. Three- cmarters of a mile. Mr B. Murfitt's g m Little Ada 1 Pour others started. Dividend, £5 83. During the day ,£555 passed through the totalisator, the largest dividend being carried by Fickle in the Ladies' Bracelet, ■ J67 43 ! A ball in connection with the above races was held in the evening in the Orange Hall, Annat. There was a large attendance, and the arrangements were well carried out. Messrs Barlow supplied the music.
