— — • The •meeting of v> Land Board yesterday was attended by 5i^ srß . I £a^ er (Chief ■ Commissioner), Lee, O'Caiu?S flan J and M'Millan. The following sales were made :-— l4 ftfclts in Akaroa County, to R. Fairweather ; 88 acres in Akaroa County, J. T. Bell ; 104 acres in Oxford Bush, on perpetual lease, to .I.H.Marriott. A license to prospect for minerals other than gold was granted to J. S. M. Jacobsen. Reserve 2597, eleven acres, was leased •for temporary occupation to Mr J. Webster. It was resolved to issue a number of notices, demanding payment of overdue rents and deferred-payment instalments. Mr Harper, on behalf of Mr W. S. Peter> applied that Crown grant might be issued forhis freehold in 'the Alford Survey district, without the road, according to Mr Baid'S'Survey. The Chief Commissioner stated that Mr Bain'a survey had never been accepted by' the Survey office, and that he could not issue tho grant in accordance with that The grant had been already prepared in accordance with Mr O'Donohue'a : re-survey, which had been accepted by the office. This was all the business.
