The Hospital Staff.
♦ TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I see by Mr Hart's letter in last night's issue that the Hospital Board intend reducing Wardsman Brown's salary one-fifth. I, for one, can testify to the value of him. Six years ago I was in the Hospital with a broken finger, which Dr Prins ordered to be taken off. The then House Surgeon apparently had not sufficient nerve to take it off, so Brown came to the rescue, took the finger off, and dressed it, and I was able to leave the Hospital in four days' time. Hoping the Board will reverse its decision of reducing go valuable a public servant, — I am, &c, A GEATEFUL PATIENT.
