THE 'FRISCO MAILS.
THE BABBIT PEST. ERADICATION OF SCAB. WELLINGTON, Fkd. 20. The Alameda left San FrancißCO for Auckland oh Feb. 14, one day late, with the English mails of Jan. 28. The Maripoaa arrived at San Francisco on Feb. 22, the time table date, with the Colonial mails of Feb. 2. Government are taking proceedings against some farmers in the northern Wairarapa district, to compel them to clear their runs of the rabbit pest. Government have received a telegram stating that the Now Plymouth district ia clean of scab. The only infected rim in New Zealand is the Clarence run, which has been taken possession of by the Government for the purpose of cleaning it.
