Canterbury College.

An ordinary meeting of the Canterbury College Board of Governors was held yes- ' terday afternoon at the usual hour ; present — Mr P. de C. Malet (Chairman), and Messrs E. W. Fereday, E. Westenra, J. V. Xoss, B. Beethain, J. B. Colborne-Veel, W. ♦Ckryßtall and the Hon E. C. J. Stevens. RESIGNATIONS. The Chairman reported the resignation •£ Dr Coward, and asked the Board to fix the date for the election of his successor by "theeradtiates. The Board fixed Saturday, April 3, on the motion of Mr Beethain, seconded by Mr Feveday. On the Board resuming, The Chairman reported that the estimates of the Boys' High School and the •Girls' High School had been passed, and that the Collego Committee's report had teen adopted as follows : — "The Committee reconurvvla the Board to accept the resignation of •It'ssrs Arnold and Ferguson, assistant vi .at era of the Boys' High School, and to appoint Mr Faulkner, B.A. Cambridge, as assistant , mastar from the commencement of the . second term. The Committee recommends --the Board to grant scholarships at the ■JBoya' High School to A. E, M. Young and GL Barber. The Committee recommends the Board to appoint Mr 3 Lane teacher of French (part time) at the Girls' High \ School." The Board than adjourned.
