THE HOTCHKISS MACHINE GUN. WELLINGTON, July 13. A large number of exhibits have ■ now come to hand from different parts of the Colony. In the art department about 300 pictures have been received, and a start will be made at once to hang them. The agreement for the transfer will take place on August 1 . The twenty eailors who were sentenced to hn weekß* imprisonment in May last, for lef using to proceed to sea in the Bteaiuer Coptic, have been released, their sentences having expired. j A trial was niade. this afternoon with the Hotehkies machine gun recently fixed j in position at Eaiwarra defence works. The trial was most successful, and took place in the presence of a large number of spectators, including many legislators.
