MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close for the followiug places as under (subject to tba necessary alterations) :— Friday, Nov. 21. For Northern Ports and Westport, per Mahinapua, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. Saturday, Nov. 22. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. Wednesday, Nov. 26. For East aud West Coabts of South America, United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, per s.s Ruapehu. This mail will be due in London about Jon. 4, 1885.
Notice.— The rates for correspondence via. Brindisi are as follow :— Letters, one shilling per half ounce ; books and parcels, threepence for every two ounces or fraction of two ounces ; newspapers, twopence each.
