ASHBURTON SPRING MEETING.

[by ouk special reporter.] Although the weather was extremely threatening this morning, towards noon it cleared up, and when the first race started the sun was shining and the prospects of favourable weather for the meeting were no longer at doubt. The events to be decided were cut down to very small fields by the scratchings of various horses which, to a great extent marred the usual interest taken in the racing. Notwithstanding this, the attendance was quite up to the average, and everything was done to make the meeting as successful as possible. The course was in excellent condition —in fact, it was better than it has ever been before. The results of yesterday'E races were as under: — County Hurdle Handicap. —Mr J.
