Last evening a very pleasantfgathering «f members of the Christchurch Fire Brigade, located at the Chester street station, took place in honour of the appointment of Fireman W. H. Hall to the position of foreman of the steamer Extinguisher, and also of his receiving his medal for long service. The health of the newly-appointed foreman was drunk with all honours, and other toasts were proposed and responded to.
