[Reuteb's Tblegeams.] I GENOA, Nov. 19. Hia Imperial Highness the Grown Frinoe of Germany arrived here to-day from Berlin. He proceeds to-night to "Valencia en route to Madrid, escorted by the German Mediterranean Naval Squadron. ALEXANDRIA, Not. 19. The report to band last week that a detachment of Egyptian troops had been attacked and routed near Sonakim, on the Red Sea, is now folly confirmed. The troops numbered 500, and -were proceeding to reinforce the army in the Soudan, when they were attaoked by rebel tollmen. Mr Monorieff, British Consul at Sonakim, who was with the detachment, was killed. Only fourteen men escaped, and they made their way to Souakim, which was subsequently attacked by the rebelß, who were, however, repulsed by the Egyptian garrison. Latest reports Btate that another attack on Souakim is imminent, and that the population is flying from the place, fearing that it will fall into the hands of the rebels. LONDON, Nov. 19. In the course of a despatch to the Imperial Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Major Sir Evelyn Baring, British Diplomatic Agent and OonsulGeneral in Egypt, states that a foroe of three thousand infantry, with six guns, will be sufficient as a garrison for Alexandria, and that the Egyptian Government has intimated its readiness to be answerable for the maintenance of order in the country at large, the organisation of the native army having now been completed by Sir Evelyn Wood, Commander-in-Ohief. The Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports on the local grain market as follows : — Wheat, firm and in active demand at 4s 5 d to 4s 6d; malting barley, 3s 9d to 4s 9d, market weaker ; New Zealand oats in good demand at 2s lid to 3s for feeding, and 3s Id to 3s 2d for milling sorts ; New Zealand oats, under bond, steady at 2s 2d to 2s sd.
