A SCHOLASTIC AUTOCRAT. [Pbb Pansa Abbooiatiojt.] AUCKLAND, Sbtt. 7. At a meeting of the Board of Education, Mr . Worthington, head masts r of the Wellesley atreet Sohool, reported that he had had to remove Mr W. J. Brown, assistant* teacher, from duty the previous day, not considering him in a fit oondition to attend to olasses j also asking for his removal aa lie could not allow him again to take oharge. Mr Brown enolosed a noto from Dr Bay tun certifying that he was suffering from an ulcerated throat and nervous debility, whioh would necessitate his absence for a week. The Board censured the head master for arrogating their functions by stating that Mr Brown would not again be allowed to teaoh in tbe school, and postponed their deoision in the oase pending investigation by the Oommitteo. ~ AUCKLAND, Sbpt. 8. A proposal hag been made in connection with the Auokiand Freezing Oompany to establish a line of about eight grass farms of 300 aores eaoh between Hawke'a Bay and Waikato to enable the driving of surplus sheep overland for export. Ihe damage by the Ie Kopuru saw mill fire has been ascertained to be under £10,000.
