Search for the Missing Boy.
According to arrangoment, another attempt was made yesterday to find the body of the missing boy Lilly, but unfortunately with es little success as attended tho previous one. Inspector Fender had on tho occasion come 600 or 700 under hia direction. These wero arranged in a lino, ho being in the middle and signalling with an extemporised flag. The party started at the gully on this side of Mr Murray Aynsloy's, taking both sides of it, end searching thoroughly up to the place where tbo other body was found. Here they re-formed, and in the same thorough manner searched both sides of the hill, as well as tho gully to tho right of whero the body was found, which in less favourable weather was gone orer on tho previous Sunday. Iho majority of the searchers thon returned to town, but a largo number went on to Lyttelton with Inspector Pender, coming back to town by train. It was remarked that upwards of fifty of those who ostensibly went to assist, contented themselves with keeping on the Bridle path, where there was not tho least probability of their finding any trace of the "missing child. The mounted party, numbering about a dozen, met at the Southern Hotel at 8 o'clock in the morning, ana under the direotion of Messrs J. H. Hall and F. W. Francis, rode down vFilso-a'a road, through Mr MurrayAyns'ey's estate, and on to Messrs Morten and White'a property. They then opened out, and advanced to the top of the hills, and thoroughly searchod the country from the sheop -yards to tho bridle path. They then searched tbe valley as far bb po»sible betwoen Governor's Bay and Lyttelton, but without any success. Owing to tho slippery state of tho hills on the Lyttelton side, it w»3 found necessary on eeveral occasions to dismount and sond the horses round in ohargo of two or threo men, while the remainder skirmished down the valleys. The party afterwords met at Lyttelton, and returned home by tho Bridle path.
