Oamaru, light north-east, fine. Bealey, south-east breeze, cloudy. Sea:— Smooth on cast coast; moderate on west coust. High-water at Lyttolton to-morrow: — Morning, 0.18 j afternoon, 0.41. Transit of Venus to-morrow morning, terminating at 7h 42m 9.. The following weather exchango was received laat night : — " New Zealand — Fino, but gloomy and sullry; the pressure is steady, and generul aoutn-«est winds, though modotato. Australia : Thero is a genorul decroase in tho pressure, aud ifc ia clouding over with aouth-west winds on West Coast, easterly on South Coast, southerly at Tasmania, and north-oast at Now South Waleß.
