ENGLAND v. VIOTORIA. [Reutee's Teleobams.l [Reooived Nov. 17, at 10 p.m.l MELBOURNE, Nov. 17. The Hon Ivo Bligk's English Eleven commenced a match to-day against eleven of Victoria. The weather was very fine and favourable for play. A large number of spectators visited the ground during the day, great interestbeing taken in the contest. The Englishmen went first to the wickets, and remained in till late in tho afternoon. The last wicket fell for a total of 273. The following are the scores : — MrG.B.Btu<M, b,wled ... 1 Bates, oaught 44 MrO.T.atud.-, bowled ... 56 Barlow, bowled 44 Mr A. G. Steel, bowled 2 Barnes, caught 8 Mr W. W. Head, bowlod ... 1 Mr E. F. 8. Tyleoote, stumped 87 Mr 0. F. H. Leslie, not out ... 67 Mr G. F. Yeraon, bowlod ... 9 Morley, bowled 10 Extras 4 Total 278 Tho Yiotorians, who oommonced their innings late in the day, had lost two wickets for 16 runs whon the stumps were drawn.
