[Pbb Pbbss association.] TAUPO, Fov. 8. With reference to the injury to the horse, reported jeeterriny, the matter is sow in the hands of the polioe, who, on searching yetter* day, found distinct trace* of sn attempt having been made to run the horse into a large boiling spring, known as the Witob.es* Cauldron, lhis having failed, the culprit appears to hare first fearfully maltreated the horse, tnd then to have attempted to eever the backbone with a tomahawk.
