FIRES.

A larga fire occurred at Newtown at 3 o'clock this morning. The fire originated in the shop and dwelling-house occupied by Mr Dobson, cabinetmaker, and the flame* rapidly ■ spread to the attached premises occupied by Mr Mjeri ; two housei, one of four and the other of two room», owned by Menrs Meadow and Orosi, and another four-roomed houio occupied by Mr F. Bmith, were also destroyed. Ihe flames spread so quickly that nothiDg wbb Bayed, with the exception of Smith's furniture. Nothing ia known ao to the origin.
