NEW BUILDING SOCIETY.

Aa arljoui-nsd meeting of those interestec in ths formation of a ne-v building societ] was held at Collier's Boyal George Hotel, a' 8 p.m. last evening. There was a good attendance, and the chaii waa occupied by Mr J. Parry. Mr J. Scott read tho roport of the Committee appointed at the previous meeting, whioh reommende- :— That it is desirable that a Co-operative Mutual Benefit Build ing Association (Limited) be established in Ohristchuroh ; that the approximate value of each sharo held by membert ohould be £200; that the entrance fee be Is per share ; that the subscription por shar< be 2s 6d per week ; that on appropriation oi allotment an additional 5a per share per wee I bo paid ; tbat appropriation be made by altera*to ballot and ealo ; that a half-yearlj oall for working expome^ of la 6d per share be made ; that the business of tho Association bo managed by a Committee of twelvs members, with Secretary and Treasurer, to he elected by tho said Committee ; that all moneys and Beourities bo lodged with the bankers of the members of tho Association within 24hoursof tho receipt thereof; that.thf* officers of the As«ociation who may have the temporary custody of moneys and securities, shall provid. the usual " Bond of Fidelity," but at tho cost of tbo said Assooation, Signed on behalf of the Coramitteo. — J. The motion was seconded, and unanimously agreed to. A considerable number of thoso present registered thoir names as members, and paid the fee. Mr Ot. Collier was appointed Treasurer of th« Society. The meeting was brought to a conclusion with a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
