Star Office, Saturday. The past week has not elicited any better feeling in the import market. Outside of ordinary trade require— ienta wa civ only report a very inanimate enquiry. With the approach of a new month, it is to be hoped a livelier tone will become manifest. Telegraphic advices hare been received from the Mauritius by Messrs Dolgety and Co., reporting the sailing of the Loretta for Lyttelton. She brings about 300 tons of white sugars, consigned to that firm. The Alexa. arrived from tha earn a port on March 21. &. portion of her sugars are intended for the Wellington market.- Teas are without change, and sales are hard to effeot.

GRAIN AND PRODUCE.

Ihe business of the week has been fully ap to the average. The market at the beginning was a shade quiet, but later on prices have hardened considern«y. WttH.tr. — Bates at the commencement of the wee- were not so firm, hut towards the end advanced. Prime samples now stand at 4s 4d to 4s sd, while Tuscan commands 4a 6d to 4s 7d. Oats are in n-> way changed. Values are quoted ai Ss to 3s Id for milling, and 2s lid for feed. Basley.— For prime lots 4s 3d to 4s 6d has been paid. Feed sorts have advanced in consequence of __» increased price of oats. Floub is quoted by millers at £10 10s for best Brands. KTH-GRA33.— The demon _„ u aa lulled and prices are. easier. LAND SALES.

At the sitting: of the Waste Lands Board on Thursday, the following amounts were Bold, realising £13 9s 5d :— Selwyn, 4i ; Oaraldine, la 3r ; total, 6a 3r. Refunds were nude on account of former purchases to the emoant of £8 4s 3d. The instalments were £49 6s 4d.
