Tbe usual mont—lj- meeting of tbis Board was held on Monday ; present —the Chairman and all the members. —The report of the Surveyor and Foreman of Workß were read and considered. —Messrs Cochrane and Wilson interviewed the Board relative to forming and shingling a portion of a road by their properties. The Board deoided that it was not advisable to do anything at present. —The members deputed to visit the drain at Chaney's, reported that they wero of opinion that the present line of drain is as efficient as can be obtained, and will afford amplo means of drainage if the present ditch is widened and deepened. —A letter was reoeived from the Engineer to the Drainage Board re sumps in Colombo Btroot and gully afc North street. It was resolved that the work be dono. —With regard to fence at Papanui remaining uncut after notice had been given, the Foreman was instructed to bave the same cut and sue fche owner for tho cost.—lnstructions were given fco have a few loads of shingle put on Tucker's road, also on road leading to Mr Hole's. —A letter was received from the Church Steward, asking if the Board would supervise tho formation of a road through part of section 243r. The Clerk was instructed to inform him that tho Board will do bo, and at the samo time drawing attention to the fact that the road will not be takeß over until properly shingled in accordance with their regulations. —From Mrs Brooks, asking for remission of rates. The Clerk was instructed to make enquiries. —From Mr Gawen, relative to state of Free's road ; also, complaining of gorse and broom growing on same. — From Meßsrs Wynn-Williams and Deacon, stating that Chapel street had been oonveyod over to the "Queen. The Surveyor was instructed to inspeot the street and report upon same. —From Mr John Rountree, senr, asking that a bridge might be placed over tho Sfc Albans Creek. —From Messrs Btening and Pearce, asking that a oulvort might be placed across Victoria street to connect with the pipes on the opposito side of the road. Instructions were given to have the work done. —Mr Dick saw the Board, and asked that the road leading into Mr Bealey's might be ploughed down and shingled. It was resolved that tho matter stand over for the present. —The Clerk was instructed to write to the Selwyn County Council, requesting that the namea of Mr Jonadab Pearce and Mr Hugh Hepburn be added to the list of trustees for the Bingsland Recreation Ground. —The Clerk was instructed to make out a list of defaulters.—Accounts to the amount ; of £272 Is 4d were passed and ordered to

be paid. — It was resolved that the next four meetings of the Board be held at 10.30 a.m., instead of in the evening. — The Board thon adjourned. ■
