+ [Reuter _ Telegrams.] LONDON, June 6. Irish Agitation in London. An open-air mass meeting was held in Hyde Park to-day, with reference to the state of affairs in Ireland. Mr Parnell, M.P. for Cork, was present. He addressed the meeting, commenting upon tho present condition of that country, and demanding that Government- should at once take steps to put a -Aop to the eviction of tenants from their holdings, in order to avert the serious consequences that would result if such practices were permitted to continue. The Ladies' League. A meeting of the Ladies' League was held at Tnlla, County Glare, to-day, at which Miss Parnell spoke. She counselled the people to adopt measures to completely ostracise the police in Ireland. The Panama Canal. The question of neutrality of the Inter- oceanic Canal in course of construction across the Isthmus of Panama, is now being considered by the Great Powers, but up to the present time no definite information as to the result of negotiations has transpired. PARIS, June 6. Massacre by Arabs. Telegrams have been received from Algeria reporting that a party of twenty-six engineers and workmen, engaged in the construction of a line of telegraph, have been massacred by native Arabs. MELBOURNE, June 8. Wrecked in the River. Owing to a severe galo which blew here last night, the ship Bulwark, 1300 tons, is on her beam ends iv the Tarra, opposite Fisherman's Bend. She ie completely waterlogged. A very high sea is running at the spot. To be, or Otherwise. In the Legislative Council to-day, the Reform Bill as amended in the Assembly came up for consideration, but discussion was postponed until tomorrow. A Selection. The Secretaryship of the Victorian Racing Club, rendered vacaHt by the death of the late Mr Bagot, has been offered to Mr Byron H. Moore, lessee of the Melbourne Exchange. It is thought that he will accept the post. Sailed — Rotorua, for the Bluff.
