i Mails closo at tho Chiel Post Offico for tho following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— Thursday, Dec. 16. For Akaroa, per Wanaka, at 7.30 a.m. ; guards' van must not be used for this mail. For Northern ports, por Bingarooma, at 3.20 p.m. ; late fco letters, 3.30 p.m. ; guard's van, 4.5 p.m. train. Friday, Deo. 17. For Otago, per Wanaka, at 11.15 a.m ; lato feo letters, 11.30 a.m. ; guard's van, 12 noon train. For Chatham Islands, por Omaha, on or abjut Saturday, Deo. 18. Friday, Deo. 31. For the United Kingdom via San Francisco, as follows : —Money orders aud registered letters at 5 p.m.; books and newspapers at 9 p.m.; ordinary letters at 10 p.m. A supplementary mail will be oloeed at 7 p.ni, on Saturday, Jan. 1, 1831. Late fee letters may be posted in the guard's van attached to tho 8.30 p.m. train oa Saturday, Jan. 1. On Saturday, Jan. 1 (Now Year's Day) all branches of tho Post-office will be closed. Note.— On and after Saturday, Dec. i, the Money Order and Savings Bank ofllco will close oar-h Saturday afternoon at two o'olook. Tho office will open again at half -past six o'cleck to receivo Saving Bank deposits only, and will ronmin open till halfpast eight o'olock. I The Sydenham Poat-office will opon on Deo. 17.
