ROAD BOARDS.

HEATHCOTF,

The above Board met on Friday last, at 10 a.m.; present— The Chairman and all the members. — The Clerk roported the receipts to be £49 13s 6d. -Messrs E. J. T.Ford J. H. Hopkins, F. Pavitt, L. Wilson and J. W. Davis waited on the Board relative to the sites for erecting bridges ovor the River Heathcote, and asked the Board to advertise for competitive designs, the Bridge Committee offering a premium of £25 for the one selected. It was agreed to do this. — Also, asking the Board to recommend that a sum of money (£1000) be granted by the Selwyn County Council in aid of erecting the bridges. It was decided to let the amount stand ovor till next Board day, enquiries to be made in the meantime as to the amount available. — Correspondence was read and dealt with. — Telegrams from Marine Department, Wellington, re bridge over Heathcote. — From Mr A. J. Whito re rock afc Sumner. The Clerk to reply. — From Mr A. Loughrey re claim of Mr Adams. The Clerk was instructed to defend the case if necessary. — From Mr J. L. Coster re roads in South Opawa. Tenders had been invited. — From Sydenham Borough Council re plans and specifications for lowering Ferry road. To be returned for fuller information. — After passing accounts for £208 los 3d, the Board adjourned.
