SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
Cilonel Townes, Collector ot Customs, ana Mr Vurley, havo been appointed a Board to enquire re irregularities of the assistant Auditor-General on the following charges :— First, taking £10 from the Treasury without tho knowledge of the head of the Department ; second, by affording contractors facilities to obtain moneys from tho Treasury on consideration of obtaining from them money accommodation by means of' acceptances, which were af tprwards dishonoured.
