THE ETHELRED, FROM LONDON.
The barque .ffithelred, Captain Dunn, arrived from London ye3torday morning, with 17 steerage passenger and 1600 tons fr«ner.il cargo. Bhe was speedily clearod by tho Health Officer, all being well on boaTd. The .ffithelred i 3 a handsome iron barque, three years old, owned by Messrs White. Foreman nnd Co., of Liverpool, and is now on her third voyage, tbo two previous voyages having been •made to Australian porta, for which trade she was built. ■ r , , Her passago has occupiod 83 daya from London, and 82 days .rom X.-.d to land. The weather experienced during the early part of the passage was fino, but the latter portion was stormy, eapecially from the Ctozat3 to tho Snaies. Tlio passengers appear to have keen very comfortablo iudood aboard, and Captain Dann has been extremoly kind to all. That this kindnesi was much appreciated ia evident, trom the very feelingly worded testimonial presented to him at the termination of the passago. Tho barque will load for Home in tho interests of the Company. She entered at the Customs yesterday, and will ba berthed at the Gladstone pier to-morrow. Ths following is an abstract report of the passago, kindly f uraished by Captain Dnnn :— Left tho Docks on March 19, and the Lizard on March 22 ; crossed the Equator April 12 in 27 20 W. ; had light S.E. trades ; crossed the meridian of Greenwich on May 7in 41.40 S. Passed to the southward of tho Crosets, and ran the easting down in 45 S. From the Crozets to the Snares experienced heavy weather, and or Jnne 11 a heavy thunderstorm passed over the ship, succeeded by a heavy S.W. galo. Sighted tbo Scares on June 12. Thavesßel's compares were useless, there being ten points of doviacion between N. and N.E. by W. M»de the Peninsnla on Juno 14, and arrived at an anohorage off Diamond Harbour at 9 a.m. yesterJay. Spoko ihe Thorn, of Liverpool, from that port to Sydney, sbe being CO daya out, and the JEthelred,4s days out.
