TEMPLETON DOMAIN BOARD.
A meeting of the Templeton Domain Board took place at tho Eoad Board, Yaldhurst, on Monday evening, Oct. 6; present — Messra Bailey (Chairman), J. Taylor (Hon. Sec), Hawkins, Hepworth, Jone3, and W. H. Taylor. Tho report brought up by tho working committee showed the fencing round the recreation ground to be finished and planted in a very satisfactory manner by the contractors, Messrs Shepherd and Co., and a cheque for tho balance of their account was ordered to be drawn. As suggcrted in tho report, the Board decided to burn the tussocks and skimplough somo 15 or 20 acres during the Bummer to be roady for further operations nexfc winter. A long and somewhat amarfc passage of arms then took place with reference to two gateways in fcho fence on fche north boundary side, apparently of long standing, and leading into rural section 9248, tho owner of which was present, and wished tho Board to build tbem up at their own cost. This tho Board could not sco they could be fairly called upon to do, but rather than have nny further contention in the matter, and as the cost would be but trifling, tho Board ultimately agreed to build tliem up. Tho Hon. Secretary was then instructed to procure a copy of the Domain Ordinance, and after several small accounts had been passed for payment the meeting adjourned.
