[SPECIAL TO THB BTAE.I August 30; -i John Brown, the sailmaker of the Haldone, was to-day sentenced to one month's imprisonment for stabbing the boatswain. Henry Lovering was charged with embezzling stores to the value of £44 The rage was dismissed on teohnioal grounds, and a fresh information will be laid. , A deputation from the Liberal Association waited on Mr Green Geld this morning, asking him to rotire from contesting the Ci'.y seat. Mr .Greenfield replied that ho was quite willing to leavo the matter in the hands of his I Committee.
