SEFTON AND AMBERLEY PLOUGHING MATCH.
■ A meeting of farmers and others interested in the match was held at Mitohinson's Sefton Hotel, on Saturday evening, at whioh thoro was a good attendance. In the absence of the President, Mr G. Gorrio was voted to the Chair. The Hon Secretary, Mr C. G. King submitted the balance-sheet and report of last year, which showed that the receipts had been £78 Is lid, and expenditure £72 11s Bd, leaving a balance to carry forward to this year of" £5 10s 3d. It was at once agreed in accordance with the decision of the general meeting last year, that the next generalmeoting be held at the Crown Hotel, Amberley, on Saturday . next, June 21, when tho election of a Committee and officers will take place, and it be decided in what neighbourhood the match be hold, though it was generally understood that the arrangement of the previms meeting would be carried out, and that Amberley would be the Bite. It woe decided that, for the future, the match be called the "Sefton and Amberley Ploughing Match." Mr King intimated his intention; of resigning the office Of secretary add : treasurer, as he could, not attend the meetings. He consented to attend the next general meeting to handover his office to a successor. A very cordial vote of thanks was passed to him for his two years' services. In that capacity, the meeting expressing great regret at hearing of his, intention to resign. The meeting 'then terminated with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
