Shortly before 5 o'clock this morning the constable on duty on Lambton Quay found a man named James Marshall, a recent arrival from Christchurch, lying on tho footpath in front of Brach's Hotel. It appears that shortly before 12 o'clock last night Marshall went to the landlord and asked for a bed. Ho wns slightly under tho influence of liquor at tho time, and of course was accommodated with a bed.
