Dr. Hassall 1 * Report, the Analytical and Sanitary Institution, 54, Holborn Viaduct, E. 0., London, May 9, 1877. Report on a sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps received from Mr H. J. Hart. We have subjected a sample of th» above-named article to a very careful chemical analysis and examination. The results of the analysis, which are set forth in a separate report, show that this spirit is of good strength, practically free from acidity, and that it contains but traces of solid matter in solution. It possesses a delicate and agree* able aroma, and a pure and mild taste. Mr Hart's Schiedam Schnapps is a very superior article of its class, is well purified, and quite genuine. (Signed) Arthur H. Hassall, M.D. author of "Food and its Adulteration" ; Otto Herner, F.C.S., Public Analyst. WM. JOHNSON'S REPORT.— Govern ment Analytical Laboratory, Melbourne, July 23, 1877. -flenri J. Hart, Esq.— Sir,— I have ihe honour to report for your information ;hat the sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps forwarded by you to me has been lubmitted to a searching chemical analyaii md critical examination, tho result of which enables me to state that it is the finest samplt )f Schapps that has as yet come under my lotice. It has a pure fragrant odour, and U ibsolutcly free from any trace of fusil or >ther injurious impurity, and has evidently >eon distilled from superior rye grain, always ised instead of nial in tho production of tho ihoicest qualities of Schnapps. It is very imooth to the palato and in this respect commres favourably with other samples offered or sale. It may bo advised as equally suit* able for medical or economic purposes. I lave the honour to be, &c. (laigned) Wm rohnson, Analytical Cheaiißt to the Governnont of Victoria.
