Dr. Hassall'f Report, the Analytical and Sanitary Institution, 54, Holborn Viaduct, E.C., London, May 9, 1877. Report on a sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps received from Mr H. J. Hart. We have subjected a sample of the above-named article to a very careful chemical analysis and examination. The results of the analysis, which are set forth in a separate report, show that this spirit is of good strength, practically free from acidity, and that it contains but traces of solid matter in solution. It possesses a delicate and agreeable aroma, and a pure and mild taste. Mr Hart's Schiedam Schnapps is a very superior article of its class, is well purified, and quite genuine. (Signed) Arthur H. Hassall, M.D. author of "Food and its Adulteration" • Otto Herner, F.C.S., Public Analyst. WE JOHNSON'S REPORT.— Govern ment Analytical Laboratory, Melbourne, July 23, 1877- -Henri J. Hart, Esq.— Sir,--I have the h&nour to report for your informatios that the sample of Imperial, Sohiedam Schnapps forwarded by you to „fne has been submitted to a searching chemical analysis and critical examination, the Result of whioh enables me to state that it is the finest sample of Schappa that has as yet come under my notice. It has a pure fraprant odour, and u absolutely free from any trace of fusil or other injurious impurity, and has evidently been distilled from superior rye grain, alwayi used instead of mal in the production of the choicest qualities of Schnappß. It is very smooth to fcbe palate and in this respect compares favourably with other samples offered for sale. It may be advised as equally suitable for medical or economic purposes I have the honour to be, &c. (Signed) Wnu Johnson, Analytical Chemist to the Government of Victoria. Thia pure medical spirit— superior to any n the market, and lower in price, is offered o the public under the full conviction thati mil supersede all others now in use.
