Dr Philson found amputation necessary. In the case of fire at Wangarei Heads, it is supposed now that Mrs Alley's premises were robbed and afterwards fired, in order to coyer the crime. Some of the goods hare been found elsewhere. The building of the Catholic schools has been; commenced on the site of the Boys' High School, to be called the Sacred Heart, and they are to be opened in a month by Mr Eedwopd, of Wellington, and Mr Moran, of Dunedim Fire teachers hare been engaged. The match Taranaki v. Fifteen of the Auckland Club is proceeding in the Domain.
